Wilpattu National Park
Wilpattu National Park is a very famous safari destination for its unique feature of Natural sand-rimmed water basins (Willus). Wilpattu National Park’s varying natural habitats, coastal belt, natural lakes, rocky outcrops, scrublands, open grasslands and dense forest provide for numerous species of animals. Among the species are 31 mammals. The biggest draws of Wilpattu are Leopards and Sloth bears. Asian elephants, spotted deer, barking deer, jackals, wild pigs, buffalos and crocodiles are some other species famous in Wilpattu.
